I am currently a first year broadcast radio student at Conestoga College.  I enjoy sound editing and production, and I'm hoping to get into that area of radio broadcasting as a career.

On the side I am an artist and a musician.  I took trombone for five years and I am self-taught on the piano, and I also play multiple different percussion instruments (both pitched and non-pitched).

During high school I was highly involved in the music program, taking five years of instrumental music, and two years of percussion.  I played first trombone in the junior band, concert band, wind ensemble, and jazz band and played various instruments in the percussion ensemble.

In grade eleven, twelve, and my fifth year I served as a mentor to grade nine and ten students coming into the music program to help them learn how to play trombone.

In my grade twelve year I started a brass quintet, and although we only ever played once at the end of the year music banquet, it was still fun to be a part of.

I was also a part of the music council all through high school.  I got to help make decisions about what songs we were going to play in the concerts, what groups were going to play, and how we were going to decorate.

My 'official' music council position was that of the Music Librarian.  I was in charge of keeping all of the music organized in score order, and alphabetizing the songs in the filing cabinet.

The biggest job I had to do was to empty out all of the music folders at the end of the year, organize it, and put it away.  This job involved me coming in every day of exam week and spending anywhere from one to five hours alone in the music room sorting sheet music.  This was not a problem for me, as I am someone who really enjoys doing repetitive work.

I also had a co-op placement in my fifth year at the Hespeler Public Library.  The jobs I did there included emptying the delivery boxes, sorting books by genre on the return shelves, shelving books, and shelf-reading to make sure the books were in the correct order on the shelves.
